The Art of Graffiti, starting this element in the year of 1985 at the age of 14 I was ready to take on the challenge of perfecting letters. Influenced by a crew in high school called IAC (Insane Artist Crew) I was determined to become good at the art of lettering. It was very frustrating in the beginning, because I had an ugly style and I wasn’t being taught by anyone. Looking through a tattoo magazine, I seen a tattoo on a man’s arm that read Artistic Images, right away I began to dwell on the matter, and decided to change my street name from Awesome to Artistic. At this time I wasn’t in any well known Graffiti crew, so me and a friend of mine name Ice Joe (also Rasp) started our own crew call S.A.R.(Sophisticated Art Rockers). Our crew didn’t last very long at all, in fact I got down with a more experienced writer name Jinx later on and he had formed a crew called ISSA, but it died too. Then one day Rasp and I went to a spot where they paint call the Walls of Sin, and I met Scope 062 who was a member of the south side crew, BASF. Eventually I was recruited into the crew, and boy was I happy, to finally be apart of one of the top crews, it was a great feeling and I was going to represent. Later on in 87’ I met tons of writers at the city wide meeting at the hall of fame. I met a brother name Fere, he took me under his wings as far as teaching me fundamental styles, and I really appreciated that, now I thought to myself, I have a good friend. Well the following year my styles began to develop rapidly and I met more people from the crew which inspired me even more. Other members included Speedy, Suspense, Spike “153”, JVC, Tronix, Kaos, Shadoe, Spook, Pep, Reason, Leep, Dr.Gory, Enemy, Senik, Matrix, Tec, Sed, Matey, Dis-one, Sapski, Strat, Dito, Craven, Ace-one, Stereo, Mc. Sire, Joe, Stercrazee, Anwser, and a host of many others.
